from Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and the
rest of the Premier League
Sunday, June 3
8.05am: Nabil Fekir will have a medical with
Liverpool today ahead of his proposed move to Anfield,
according to Canal Plus and Eurosport journalist Romain
Collet-Gaudin.
He tweeted: “#Fekir and his agent should be this Sunday in
Liverpool to settle the last details of the transfer of the
French international.
“If all goes well, medical visit in the wake! #LFC”
7.30am: Northern Ireland manager Michael
O’Neill says West Brom defender Jonny Evans has what it takes
to play for a top-six side in the Premier League.
He said: “Jonny has all the attributes to play in a top-six
side, there’s no doubt about that.
“The price you can get him for is an absolute steal, given what
people are buying players for nowadays.
“I expect to see Jonny move in the summer and get a fresh
start, hopefully at a big club.”
06.10am: Napoli have rejected a bid
totalling £44m from Manchester City for Jorginho, according to
the Italian club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
De Laurentiis told Corriere dello
Sport on Saturday that City had made an
offer of £40m for the Italy midfielder with bonuses on top.
“I’ve refused €45m plus a €5m bonus from City for
Jorginho,” De Laurentiis said.
Jorginho has two years left on his current deal with the Serie
A side.
04:40am: L’Equipe says Arsenal have
enquired about Stuttgart defender Benjamin
Pavard.
The French youngster, 22, has not missed
a Stuttgart first team game
this season and his progress has attracted attention from
abroad.
The defender, who joined VfB in 2016
from Lille, has a deal to 2019 and recently
swerved new contract talks.
03.00am: Atletico Madrid have reportedly
started negotiations with Monaco over a move for French
midfielder Thomas Lemar, who is expected to cost at least £78m.
The club’s director of sport, Andrea Berta, is in France to
discuss a potential summer move, according to AS.
Atletico want to sign Lemar whether star forward Antoine
Griezmann stays or joins Barcelona.
02.10am: Arsenal and Liverpool are
tracking Shakhtar Donetsk star Bernard according to claims from
Italy.
The Brazil international has 14 caps but is leaving Shakhtar on
a free this summer.
And the tricky winger is attracting attention from England with
Italian-based journalist Andersinho Marques claiming both
Liverpool and Arsenal are keen.
Despite preferring a move to FC Porto, Bernard secured a
£22m move to Ukrainian side in 2013.
00.30am: Manchester
United target Mateo Kovacic, 24, has
hinted at a move away from Real
Madrid, saying he wants more
game time.
The Croatian midfielder started just 10 La Liga games
last season.
Kovacic said: “I believe I’ll play more, whether in Real or
somewhere else, now is the time for me to play.”
“Offers? I am under contract with Real and I wish not to
comment on other clubs.”
The 24-year-old joined Madrid in 2015 from Inter Milan and has
won three Champions League titles and a La Liga crown.
Kovacic told reporters on Friday: “I believe I’ll play
more, whether in Real or somewhere else, now is the time for me
to play.”

10pm: Lionel Messi has reportedly
demanded Barcelona improve their midfield this summer.
According to Don Balon, a Spanish
outlet famous for its outlandish transfer claims, Messi has
identified the two players he wants to see added to Barca’s
midfield.
The report states that the Argentine
wants Tottenham star
Christian Eriksen, as well as Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic.
Messi is concerned that Barca are losing their identity as a
team that passes the ball quickly and wants players brought in
to reestablish that philosophy.
The 30-year-old is believed to be frustrated with Paulinho and
no longer wants him around the first team.
6.55pm: Nabil Fakir to Liverpool is the major
transfer that is most likely to happen this summer, according
to bookies Coral.
Liverpool are looking to complete the signing of Lyon forward
Fekir before the World Cup gets underway on June 14.
Coral price the deal at 1/8 to go through – the shortest odds
they are currently offering on player transfers in the summer
window.
A move to Liverpool for Jack Butland is second on the list and
is available at 4/7.
Coral spokesman John Hill told Starsport: “Liverpool have
splashed the cash in the summer transfer window already and the
latest betting suggests they could be set to be the busiest
team over the next couple of months as they are expected to
wrap up deals for Nabil Fekir and Jack Butland.”
5.50pm: Manchester
United[1] manager
Jose Mourinho hopes to take advantage of the mess at Real
Madrid following Zinedine Zidane’s shock exit, according to Don
Balon.
The Spanish publication claims Mourinho wants to bring Gareth
Bale and Raphael Varane to Old Trafford as part of a double
raid.
He reportedly believes now is the perfect time to launch offers
for the forward and defender.
5.30pm: Chelsea are back in talks with Luis
Enrique as their hunt for a new manager takes a fresh twist.
Stamford Bridge bosses sensationally pulled the plug on a deal
with Maurizio Sarri yesterday amid concerns over his behaviour.
And, according to Spanish publication Sport, they have now
reopened talks with Enrique.
A three-year deal could reportedly be struck in the coming
days.
3.45pm: Jurgen Klopp would only quit Liverpool
for Real Madrid if the Spanish giants complete two major
signings, according to Don Balon.
The Spanish publication claim the Liverpool manager is aware
that Real Madrid fancy appointing him as Zinedine Zidane’s
successor.
And he has reportedly told the club’s president Florentino
Perez that Mohamed Salah and Manchester United goalkeeper David
De Gea would have to be signed for him to switch dugouts.
2.55pm: Roma appear to be making plans for the
possibility of Alisson leaving the club this summer.
Liverpool and Chelsea have targeted Brazil’s No.1.
And according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, if
Alisson goes, Roma will pursue a deal for Bayer Leverkusen
goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Arsenal want the Germany international too, though.

Transfer News: Jack Butland could
be heading to Liverpool
1.50pm: West Ham are aiming to complete a
shock deal for PSG midfielder Javier Pastore, the Daily Mail
say.
The creative 28-year-old is free to leave the Parc des Princes
this summer as the club look to settle their finances and abide
to FIFA’s financial fairplay rules.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side could take advantage and have held
talks with Pastore’s agent.
12.50pm: A flurry of bets have been placed on
Liverpool signing Jack Butland from Stoke.
The goalkeeper has been targeted by the Reds for a summer move
and Coral price a switch to Anfield at 4/7 now.
A Coral spokesperson said: “It looks inevitable that Jack
Butland is going to leave Stoke this summer.
“And judging by the number of bets we have taken this morning
on Liverpool being his next club, it suggests to us that Jurgen
Klopp may have identified his new keeper.”
11.50am: Mohamed Salah will stay at Liverpool
and snub Real Madrid following Zinedine Zidane’s departure,
Diario Gol report.
The Spanish outlet claims Salah has concerns over Real going
forward and how they will struggle to emulate their success
achieved under Zidane.
Due to the major pressure at the Bernabeu, the Real target is
opting to stick with the project under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
It is said Salah has told former Liverpool team-mate and
Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho of his intentions.
11.05am: Arsenal boss Unai Emery has three La
Liga players in his sights, according to Spanish outlet Don
Balon.
In attack, Villarreal winger Samu Castillejo is wanted as the
Gunners manager feels he can shine in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi and
Getafe centre-half Djene have also been requested by Emery.
The trio are seen as obtainable, given Arsenal’s restricted
transfer budget.
10am: Unai Emery is keen on bolstering
Arsenal’s midfield with the addition of Steven Nzonzi, who he
coached at Sevilla.
One of his first actions in charge will be to try and sign
Sevilla ace Nzonzi, according to Estadio Deportivo
Emery was the man to take the France international to La Liga
when he signed him from Stoke for £7m.
The 29-year-old is being targeted and Emery has a say in
transfers, despite Arsenal’s new recruitment set-up led by Sven
Mislintat.

Transfer News: Marko Arnautovic
continues to be linked to Manchester United
9.25am: Manchester United are interested in
signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, ESPN claim.
The Wales international outlined his desire for more game time
after proving the catalyst in the Champions League final for
Real.
United want to avoid a prolonged transfer saga and have not
been given any indication Real want to sell following Zinedine
Zidane’s departure.
But if they get encouragement, Jose Mourinho could well move.
8.20am: West Ham star Marko Arnautovic would
be unable to turn down a reunion with Jose Mourinho at
Manchester United, The Sun say.
The Red Devils are interested in signing the £50m-rated
forward, who worked under the Portuguese at Inter Milan.
The Hammers are insisting the 29-year-old is not for sale,
though, with Everton also said to be hunting him.
7.25am: Liverpool have not forgotten about
Thomas Lemar and a mammoth bid is being prepared to secure the
Monaco star.
Transfer Market Web report that a bid of around £101m will be
necessary to prise away the France winger.
Jurgen Klopp has already snapped up Fabinho from Monaco and
Lemar remains on his radar.
3.00am: Chelsea could lose Eden Hazard – and
they will struggle to find anyone to replace him.
That’s according to former Blues star Frank Sinclair, who
predicts a tricky transfer window in store for the west
Londoners.
He said: “Chelsea will be doing everything they can to keep
[Eden Hazard] there for at least another year, but Real Madrid
were linked heavily last year and could come back in for him
again.
“Top players will be expecting to play for teams in the
Champions League, and Chelsea will struggle to sign these
players now.”
12.00am: Aston Villa have slapped a £40m
price-tag on Jack Grealish, Starsport can exclusively reveal.
Chinese owner Tony Xia has sanctioned the sale of the
22-year-old following Villa’s failure to earn promotion into
the Premier League.
Villa were beaten 1-0 by Fulham in the Championship play-off
final last Saturday.
And it is understood Xia is looking at his options with Villa
going into the last year of their parachute payments, following
their relegation from the top flight two years ago.
It is understood he values the club at £100m and is willing to
listen to offers.
